Additional Programs at Tower Hill School

Sibling Care

The Sibling Care program provides childcare for younger siblings of Tower Hill School children while their parent is helping in the classroom.  Under state regulations, parents must be on the premises.  The program is open to children from age 3 months to 3 years several times a week during the morning class sessions.  Advance reservation is required. A caring, well-trained staff works with children on a 1 to 4 ratio in a quality environment allowing parents to co-op with their older child.  There is an hourly charge for your child to attend the Sibling Care program as well as an annual registration fee.

Extended Care

The Extended Care program is available for children of school families from ages 3 to 6.  The program is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  This program follows the Tower Hill School “Child-Centered” philosophy in a less structured way.  Children may choose from a number of creative play areas and can also join the “Lunch Bunch” and bring their own lunch. Advance reservation is required. There is an hourly charge for your child to attend the Extended Care program as well as an annual registration fee.

Toddler Playtime

Toddler Playtime is a new program for toddlers aged 18 – 30 months along with their parent or caregiver designed to ease the transition to Preschool. This program introduces the preschool philosophy with fun “playtime” learning and activities aimed at strengthening the child’s developmental needs. Classes are held Tuesdays or Wednesdays from October through May from 9:30 am until 11:00 am. There is a session charge to attend the Toddler Playtime program as well as an annual registration fee. A monthly commitment is required.

Preschool Enrichment

The Preschool Enrichment program is offered to 4 year old and Pre-K students and is designed to enhance the child’s preschool experience and strengthen their academic and social success. The preschool curriculum is extended with fun “hands-on” learning and activities such as Cooking & Nutrition, Sports & Movement, Spanish, Science, Art, Computers, Music & Drama, and Health & Safety. Classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays from October through May from 12 pm until 1:30 pm with an optional “Lunch Bunch” program held in the classroom from 11:30 am until 12 pm. There is a session charge to attend the Preschool Enrichment program as well as an annual registration fee. A monthly commitment is required.

Afternoon Kindergarten Enrichment

The Afternoon Kindergarten Enrichment program is offered to Kindergarten students and is designed to enhance the child’s school experience and strengthen their academic and social success. The Kindergarten Enrichment program will engage students in activities and extensions of the Kindergarten curriculum that allows for more time to be spent on: Oral Language, Phonemic Awareness, Language Arts, Math, Technology, Music & Creative Movement, Science and Theater. Classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays from October through May from 1 pm until 3 pm. There is a session charge to attend the Kindergarten Enrichment program as well as an annual registration fee. A yearly commitment is required.

Preschool Shake, Move & Dance

The Preschool Shake, Move and Dance Program will engage children in exercises that will enhance their large motor skills and introduce them to a variety of movement-based learning.  Activities will teach both spatial and body awareness as well as foster a greater understanding of teamwork.  Activities will include: movement games (musical chairs, freeze dance, monster ball), yoga and stretching, dance (Bunny Hop, Hokey Pokey, Tooty Ta and others), Relay Games and Sports.  Classes are held on Wednesdays or Fridays from 11:30 am to 1 pm.  Children should bring their lunch from home and will eat in the classroom together from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.  An eight week commitment is required.

Tower Hill School is a non-profit Early Childhood Program licensed by the State of New Jersey, Department of Human Services, Bureau of Licensing, Division of Youth and Family Services. Children of all faiths and races are welcome to attend.
